Orlando Pirates leapfrog Kaizer Chiefs on log standings

Orlando Pirates’ victory over TS Galaxy means Kaizer Chiefs drop to sixth on the DStv Premiership log standings

Orlando Pirates returned to DStv Premiership action on Saturday evening when they hosted TS Galaxy at the Orlando Stadium.

Deon Hotto was the man to do the damage for Pirates after he expertly slotted a free-kick home in the 24th minute earning his side a 1-0 victory in the process.

Kaizer Chiefs’ victory over Polokwane City earlier in the day saw the Glamour Boys move up to fifth on the log standings however Orlando Pirates’ win meant the Buccaneers climbed up to fifth, with Chiefs ending the night in sixth, two points behind their neighbours.

Action at the Orlando Stadium gets underway at 20:00. The match will be televised live on SuperSport PSL.

“We have to give the supporters hope by producing better performance. It is simple,” – Jose Riveiro said as quoted by Sowetan.

“We are not finding the goal as easy as we would like and that’s a handicap. But I’m busy with the problems that we have to make sure that we solve them.

“If Orlando Pirates continue having all problems, then we are doing something wrong. I’m busy trying to help my players to win games and score more goals, but I’m not concerned.”
