OPINION: FOUR new signings who should START for Kaizer Chiefs against Chippa

Kaizer Chiefs giving youth a chance

Siyabonga Gumede is just 19 but he could be on the verge of a first-team breakthrough. The competition for places at centre-back is intense, though. Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Spiwe Msimango and Njabulo Ngcobo are firmly ahead of him in the pecking order, but there’s no reason a few impressive training sessions won’t lead to an appearance in a matchday squad.

There are a number of promising talents at Naturena knocking on the door for first-team minutes. One such player is Mfundo “Obrigado” Vilakazi. The wing wizard has long been touted as one of the next best things in the Chiefs academy.
