After the expiry of his loan stint in the Mother City, Lakay impressed the Tshwane rivals during the COSAFA Cup tournament where he skippered the Bafana Bafana squad.

With his future remaining bleak at the Chloorkop-based Sundowns, the seasoned left-back is now linked with SuperSport.

“Personally, it is a good feeling,” Lakay told iDiski Times at the time.

“But at the end of the day, it is about representing the country. So I try not to make it about me, even though it is good for me. At the end of the day, it is for the country, it is for the team and possibly lifts the cup.”
