Football tactics can be boring and hard to fathom to us as fans, this is why Mamelodi Sundowns’ Rushine De Reuck has surprised us about his insights on the club’s attackers.

The former Maritzburg United star has become a strong contender for the DStv Premiership Defender of the Season, he is in fact expected to win the gong come the end of the term.

For now, the Cape Town-born star is giving credit to his attacking teammates like Themba Zwane and Peter Shalulile.

“Defending starts from the front. So I think a lot of credit has to go to guys like Peter [Shalulile], [Themba] Zwane, [Thabiso] Kutumela, and Gaston [Sirino] to mention a few,” he told his club’s media.

“They’ve worked really hard for the team and they are a big reason the team is keeping so many clean sheets.

“It’s also very important that we have a good understanding in the backline because there’s no room for error, we must almost have the perfect game all the time.”

In other news from the Kabo Yellow camp, Lyle Lakay has sent a message that Al Ahly will have to respond to this weekend.

As The South African confirmed this month, the DStv Premiership supremos are set to face Al Ahly in a CAF Champions League group game in Egypt this weekend.

Looking ahead to the game on Friday night, Lyle Lakay has assured Mamelodi Sundowns fans the club has traveled to take three points from Ahly.

“Preparations are good, everything is going well, we came here to win the two games that we play in Egypt, and we do have to focus on that,” he said via the Ultimate Sports Show.

“For us, we take each game at a time, we’re not looking obviously ahead to the Al Ahly game, like I said, we came here to win both games. [Sundowns drew against El-Merrikh]. Read the full story here.
