Al Ahly are reportedly keenly monitoring the situation surrounding youth international Thabo Cele.

According to Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs proposed move for the young star is in jeopardy as the Egyptian giants have caught a sniff.

The chief obstacle to a move at this stage might be the Al Ahly fans, many of whom are concerned by the growing number of South Africans and former PSL players in the Red Devils squad.

Kaizer Chiefs have dallied in their attempts to sign free agent Cele, who is believed to prefer the notion of playing in less glamourous leagues in Europe ahead of a headline move to the Soweto giants.

TS Galaxy have more business to do

Having already signed Mohammed Anas, Augustine Kwem, Mthobisi Mngomezulu, Xolani Slawula, Sithembiso Ngobe, Igor Makitan, Vasilije Kolak and Marate Ndieguene ahead of the season TS Galaxy coach Owen da Gama remains set on further strengthening the Rockets squad.

With a large free agency pool to make use of TS Galaxy and other PSL clubs have every chance of strengthening their squads in the coming weeks.

“Any coach will tell you that he’ll always want more and want better,” Da Gama said in an interview with Times Live.

” There’s one more player I think we can still sign outside the window who is out of contract.”

Former Orlando Pirates star plots next move

Former Orlando Pirates winger Justin Shonga could be closing in on his next move as he searches for a club after being released by Cape Town City at the end of last season.

Shonga’s agent told reporters that there are offers for the attacker from two PSL clubs and there is also interest in the Zambia international from abroad.

A brief trial at Amazulu didn’t convince Benni McCarthy that he was prepared to aid Usuthu in their bid to compete on the continent but club’s with less lofty ambitions might well roll the dice on a player who is still only 24-years-old.

Too many cooks at Mamelodi Sundowns

According to sources from within Mamelodi Sundowns Manqoba Mngqithi, Rulani Mokwena and Steve Komphela aren’t seeing eye to eye despite the successes they have achieved.

The Soccer Laduma magazine has run an expose on the situation but the club and three coaches have declined to comment.
