Kaizer Chiefs result: Nurkovic goal sends Amakhosi into the Top 8!

Kaizer Chiefs will participate in next season’s MTN8 following their 1-0 win over TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.

Kaizer Chiefs will participate in next season’s MTN8 following their 1-0 win over TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.

Samir Nurkovic scored the only goal of the match as Amakhosi left everything on the pitch to hold on to their slim lead.

After a slow start to the first half, Chiefs changed gears after the 15th-minute as they threw bodies forward.

Chiefs would then be rewarded in the 26th-minute as Nurkovic handed them the lead with a header from inside the TS Galaxy box.

But before then, Bruce Bvuma had to be at his best to pull off two great saves that denied TS Galaxy the lead.

After the break, Chiefs took control of the game by soaking up the pressure from TS Galaxy.

Despite a number of changes from TS Galaxy coach Owen Da Gama, TS Galaxy, who dominated the ball possession, still couldn’t get past the Chiefs defence.

Toward the end, Bvuma was again alert to brilliantly parry an attempt by TS Galaxy for a corner.

Ultimately, Chiefs ran 1-0 winners to seal their participation in next season’s MTN8 competition when it looked very difficult for them to do so.
