Kaizer Chiefs defender Thatayoane Ditlhokwe has undergone shoulder surgery, coach Cavin Johnson confirmed.

The Amakhosi centre-back suffered an injury while away on international duty with Botswana and will now miss the next three months of action.

Ditlhokwe joins Keagan Dolly and Ashley Du Preez in the medical room while Itumeleng Khune has been suspended by the club.

Kaizer Chiefs star to miss three months

“TT (Ditlhokwe) came off the operating table yesterday for his shoulder an we expect him to be out for about three months. We wish him a good recovery. And Ashley (du Preez) is maybe a week and a half to two weeks away from being back.” Johnson told the Kaizer Chiefs Media team.

“Keagan Dolly is still recovering and is still involved in his rehab following his injury against Orlando Pirates.”

We have enough quality – Johnson

“Look I think we have enough quality in the team, I just think they have not been given enough opportunities as individuals and I think the way we assess them, or the way we analyse them as part of the Chiefs family,” Johnson told iDiskiTimes

“I think that needs to be a little better between myself and my coaching staff. Because then we can give them more, they can be more positive towards themselves.

“If you did come to Kaizer Chiefs as an average player, then we will make you a better player. I think we need to get in their skin right now and there are good players.”
