Zwane: ‘I told juniors I’m going to be the coach of Kaizer Chiefs one day’

Recently appointed Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has revealed that he has always kept the vision to coach the senior side.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has reminded us all that you can achieve whatever you dream of.

It feels like a long time ago now, but it was just 10 days ago when Amakhosi named the former winger as the new head coach to replace Gavin Hunt.

The appointment came years after the Meadowlands-born coach spent years as a development coach and later assisted senior coaches.

Speaking to the media this week, Zwane revealed that he had always been working towards the dream.

“I’ve seen people changing things for the better,” he said as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“I’ve seen people who were nobodies become heroes simply because of what they wanted to achieve. 

“It shows a lot of character, dedication, and discipline, and respect for life and the game,” he added.

A PROMISE TO HIS FORMER JUNIOR PLAYERS

While coming up the ranks as a development coach, Zwane added to reveal that he used to tell his players that he will one day become the coach of the mighty Kaizer Chiefs senior side.

“I believe I am one of those who waited patiently for many years. Even in the past, I used to tell the players I worked with in various age groups that, ‘you know guys, me, this is where I am going,” the man known as ‘10111′ added.

“I’m going to be the head coach of Kaizer Chiefs one day. I don’t know when, but I am definitely going to be the coach and I’m going to be successful,” he concluded.
