Kaizer Chiefs looking to avoid back to back Soweto derby defeats

Kaizer Chiefs will resume their DStv Premiership campaign when they take a short trip to Dobsonville to face Swallows.

Kaizer Chiefs will resume their DStv Premiership campaign on Sunday when they take a short trip to Dobsonville to visit Moroka Swallows.

Amakhosi lost their previous game to rivals Orlando Pirates in a Soweto derby before the last FIFA International break of the year.

Chiefs now find themselves having to play in another derby this weekend. The Glamour Boys need all the three points from the upcoming match that will help them climb up the PSL log.

Kaizer Chiefs take on Swallows this weekend

Swallows have done fairly well so far and sit 5th on the log with 18 points after 10 matches.

Chiefs are 10th with 14 points after 12 games.

Amakhosi have four games left before the end of the year and coach Cavin Johnson will want to collect maximum points from the remaining games before the Africa Cup of Nations hiatus in January and February.

Chiefs are in need of points this season and another defeat could very much see them battle to finish in the top eight at the end of the campaign.

Last season, Amakhosi, under Arthur Zwane finished fifth but suffered 12 defeats in the league.

So far, they have lost six times and are more likely to match or break their record of most defeats in a season. A win or draw against Swallows will ease the pressure on Cavin Johnson and his technical team.
