Kaizer Chiefs management needs a total revamp from top to bottom including a coach and players. That’s according to a Phakaaathi insider source at Naturena.

Kaizer Chiefs are in limbo

The Glamour Boys are still looking for the right man to take the permanent head coach role since sacking Molefi Ntseki after he lasted only 113 days on the job. Cavin Johnson is the current interim boss but will return to his Head of Academy role at the end of the campaign. Club legends have raised doubts and concerns over the players too, especially after the shock Nedbank Cup exit to Milford.

The mood is not good

“The mood is not good, you should have seen the management … they are very disappointed with what has been happening. Against that team Milford in the Nedbank, people were very angry,” said the source.

“Former players have been coming to the village to raise their concerns, they don’t think the players understand the kind of brand Chiefs is. Scouts are already hard at work trying to bring quality players who will do the job for the club. I think they are nearing the end of the search for a new coach and now the big job will be getting top players.”

Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove committed a professional foul against Moroka Swallows. The red card he subsequently received rules him out of Amakhosi’s clashes with Golden Arrows in midweek and Orlando Pirates at the weekend. The Glamour Boys host Arrows at FNB Stadium on Tuesday at 19:30 and then face Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby on Saturday 9 March. Kickoff in the big one is at 15:30.
