Kaizer Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune was nowhere to be seen in Cavin Johnson’s latest squad.

The Glamour Boys returned to action on Sunday afternoon with Bruce Bvuma starting in goal while Brandon Petersen was named on the bench.

According to the club, Khune is out ‘injured’ however the latest rumours claim the veteran goalkeeper has been suspended at the club.

The veteran goalkeeper allegedly arrived at training under the influence of alcohol!

Reputable local publication FarPost who broke the story, have claimed Khune is set to be suspended and stripped of his leadership role.

The iconic Bafana Bafana goalkeeper has made five appearances for the club so far this season.

Kaizer Chiefs captain arrives at training DRUNK?

“Long-serving Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is reportedly in hot water and faces suspension and demotion for alleged misconduct, FARPost can exclusively reveal.” a report read.

“Khune was recently caught arriving for training allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The club has taken a strong stance against the incident and is reportedly taking steps to suspend and demote him.”

“The club’s management met the former Bafana Bafana goalie and expressed its “extreme disappointment” with his behaviour. They made it clear that his actions were ‘unacceptable’ and that he would face ‘severe disciplinary action’.”

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker has broken his silence on the leg breaking tackle he received from Mamelodi Sundowns’ Bongani Zungu.

Now plying his trade for TS Galaxy. Bernard Parker was on the receiving end of a leg breaking tackle last month.

The Bafana Bafana legend underwent immediate surgery. He is now on the mend however he’ll remain on the sidelines for an extended period of time

“I think there was ill intent in the Zungu tackle,” Parker told SportsNightAmplified on MetroFM.

“I think it was a build up of emotions from him and looking at the two goals scored by Galaxy and how he was involved. When the incident happened, it was building up to it. We are all human and things like that do happen, I am not angry.”
