Kaizer Chiefs got rid of no less than 12 players ahead of next season.

Included in the 12 were some of the club’s highest earners in Lebogang Manyama, Samir Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro.

Samir Nurkovic, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Daniel Cardoso, Lazarous Kambole, Kearyn Baccus, Bernard Parker, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Daniel Akpeyi were all released.

Lazarous Kambole and Dumisani Zuma were also axed however the duo both found new clubs immediately.

And while Samir Nurkovic and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya are also close to new clubs according to reports, the rest have struggled.

According to reports, the Amakhosi ‘rejects’ are struggling due to their massive salary demands.

As one would expect, Kaizer Chiefs players are some of the highest earners in the PSL. And this has come back to bite a number of their axed players in the foot!

Why Kaizer Chiefs stars are struggling to find new clubs revealed?

“The flawed recruitment process by Kaizer Chiefs regarding player packages in recent years has come to the fore during the current transfer window.” a KickOff report read.

“While it would be expected that players moving from Chiefs would easily find new clubs it hasn’t been the case with the rest of the crew with all of them still having talks with prospective employers.

“Money has been highlighted as being the issue with no club able to offer them similar packages to what they were earning at Kaizer Chiefs.

“Manyama’s package at Chiefs has scared off some of those that are interested just as with Cardoso, Castro, Akpeyi, Parker, Mphahlele and Baccus who are still without new clubs.

“They were all on six-figure salaries at Chiefs and accepting pay cuts will be the next realistic option to secure their next move which proves the inflated salaries many players were on at Naturena.”

In other transfer news, Kaizer Chiefs are not yet done in the Transfer Market according to a senior club official.

Amakhosi marketing and commercial director Jessica Motaung has hinted at further new signings at Naturena.

The Glamour Boys have already welcomed seven new faces to Naturena.

Amakhosi not done in the market – Motaung

“It is still the signing window. So when everything is done, we will let you know.” – Jessica Motaung told Sowetan.

“But if there are certainly new announcements coming, it will be made to the public.

“I’m glad that the Kaizer Chiefs supporters are excited and I think it is important that they are part of the journey.

“We want them to support the players that we bought together and we are also excited that we now have 100% of fans in the stadium with the way things look.

“Our target is success, success at all levels and that’s very key at Kaizer Chiefs. Hence the work that you see being done at the technical level and the management level and at the brand level,”
