Keagan Dolly has reiterated that Kaizer Chiefs have no fear ahead of their challenging Soweto Derby clash against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

SHOT FIRED AHEAD OF SOWETO DERBY

While the Soweto showdown between AmaKhosi and the Sea Robbers only kicks off at 3:30pm at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon, battle lines have already been drawn.

Addressing the media at a pre-derby press conference, Dolly laid down the gauntlet with a direct challenge at Pirates.

“There’s no way I am going to stand here and tell you guys that I am afraid of Pirates,” the former Chiefs captain said adamantly.

“I am not going to lie to look good on camera and say I am afraid of them, and their players should also be saying the same. It’s a derby, it’s a football match, so we should go out there and compete.”

THE KAIZER CHIEFS CAPTAINCY ISSUE

Addressing the sensitive issue of his lost captaincy, Dolly admitted that the appointment of Yusuf Maart as Kaizer Chiefs skipper is a blessing in disguise for him personally.

“In a way, maybe not wearing the armband takes a little bit of pressure off me, not to try and focus too much on trying to help everyone on the field and forget about my game. So, now I can start focusing on being the best Keagan I can be to help the team.

“On the field there are a lot of players that can be captain on the day. We have a leadership group of six, seven players…we share the leadership role,” he Chiefs veteran boasted.
