Breaking: Chiefs defender given a lifeline after contract extension

The Chiefs defender, recently came back very strongly after recovering from a potentially career-threatening injury in 2021/22.

Kaizer Chiefs have announced that full-back S’fiso Hlanti has signed a one-year contract extension, with an option for a further year thereafter.

The player, who hails from Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal, came back very strongly after recovering from a potentially career-threatening injury in 2021/22, and was an integral component of Amakhosi’s defensive unit last season.

There has been reports that the left back might leave Amakhosi during the pre-season.

Chiefs extent Hlanti’s contract

On Friday morning, the club posted that Hlanti was staying,extending his contract by another year.

“We are happy that we have agreed on this contract extension with S’fiso. He is an important member of the team, given his experience and ability. We look forward to his continued hard-work and sharing of his knowledge with the young players we have in the team,” says Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr.

This week, Chiefs also appointed Molefi Ntseki as head coach, replacing Arthur Zwane.
