Among the goal-scoring chances that were missed by the Soweto giants, two were wasted by Du Preez who recently came under fire when he did the same thing in the Bafana Bafana match against Botswana.

The former Stellenbosch star had a one-on-one opportunity with Usuthu’s goalie Veli Mothwa, but the chance was saved before the ball bounced back to his feet and he skied it over the bar.

‘WE ALL BELIEVE IN HIM’ – ZWANE ON DU PREEZ

“No. He’s a big boy, he has a strong character,” Zwane told the media as quoted by KickOff.

“He’s one boy that I believe in. We all believe in him. We all believe he’s going to get it right at some point.

“As I’ve been saying, football is a game of mistakes and there are times when things are not going your way. As a coach, what do I do? All I have to do is lift him up. To work on him and improve his game.”

“He’s easy to work with. He’s focused. I think maybe the past two weeks it was other players who were trying their level best but the form was dipping a bit.

“Again, what do I do as a coach? It’s our role to help them, work on their strengths and cover their weaknesses.”
