Orlando Pirates resume their continental campaign this weekend after starting with a bang in recording a 2-0 win over JS Saoura at home.

Pirates are in Libya to face Al-Ittihad this weekend, clearly highlighting the challenges this competition throws up.

Here we try to predict the Orlando Pirates starting XI for their match against Al-Ittihad in the Confederation Cup.

The match will take place on Sunday 20 February at the Martyrs of February Stadium near Benghazi.

Orlando Pirates Starting XI prediction

Siyabonga Mpontshane will start in goal after he kept a clean sheet in his last two matches along with a great season so far.

Without a doubt Paseka Mako should stay at left back in a back four for Orlando Pirates after a great run.

On the right, Pirates are likely to deploy Bandile Shandu, either as an out and out fullback or as a wingback-cum-winger.

The pairing of Happy Jele and Olisa Ndah has given Orlando Pirates a solid base, meaning they should be retained.

In midfield, Fortune Makaringe should now finally take over from Ntsako Makhubela on the right.

In the central midfield pairing, we also expect faith will be shown in Thabang Monare and Goodman Mosele.

Finally, in regards to Deon Hotto, he should take up an advanced position on the left of the midfield.

We believe Thembinkosi Lorch will also be asked to drop in just behind the lone striker.

That lone ranger up front, meanwhile, should be Kwame Peprah who keeps improving week on week.
