Former Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat has finally broken his silence since leaving the Soweto Giants back in June 2023.

The 33-year-old playmaker recently signed with Zimbabwean side, Yadah FC.

Billiat left Amakhosi after he was reportedly unhappy with the new contract he was offered by the club.

Having left Kaizer Chiefs, he tried his luck with Cape Town Spurs and SuperSport United however both PSL teams decided not to sign him.

After failing to secure a contract in South Africa since leaving Amakhosi, it was rumoured that the star might join Zimbabwean giants Dynamos but instead, he signed with Yadah FC.

Billiat finds a home after Kaizer Chiefs

“Firstly, I want to thank God. There is so much love in Zimbabwe, this is great I have been homesick for some time and being here, having so much love,” Billiat was quoted on FAPPost.

“I’m looking forward to enjoying football here in Zimbabwe. I’m grateful that I still have a chance to play here in Zimbabwe. I don’t think, I’ve ever been loved like this before. I didn’t know how it is, it’s a great feeling.”

Since moving from Mamelodi Sundowns to Kaizer Chiefs, Billiat has struggled to replicate his form that saw him crowned the 2015/16 Player of the Season.

“Yadah FC is a special team and I have been watching them, they play beautiful football despite winning or losing. Their football is beautiful.

“I came from an academy so, this is the only place I thought, I would come. They showed so much love for me and they sacrificed a lot for me,” Billiat said.
