Manchester United have unveiled the signing of top midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea.

The 24-year-old England international explained why he chose to join Red Devils despite interests from Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.

He was officially unveiled as the Reds’ new no.7 on Wednesday, becoming Erik ten Hag’s latest recruit.

United have so far announced Mount as the new signing ahead of the 2023/24 season. It is believed that the club are offloading 13 players this summer as they look to secure funds to buy top players.

“It’s a massive club with huge, iconic players that have played here.

“I wanted to be a part of that from from the beginning. And obviously getting in early, ready for pre-season to start, was a main objective of mine as well.”

Mount, who won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea two years ago, is optimistic for United’s upcoming campaign and is eager to start his pre-season under new manager.

“The most important thing for me was getting there, being ready on day one and being able to obviously meet all the players, the manager, and get working,” added the new United player.
