The English Premier League continues this weekend as the title challengers looks to keep up their break-neck pace at the top of the EPL standings.

Liverpool made it nine wins out of ten last Sunday, continuing their unbeaten start to the season with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Tottenham at Anfield.

Success maintained a six-point lead for Jurgen Klopp’s men over reigning champions Manchester City at the summit.

Now the Reds travel to Birmingham for a Saturday clash with Aston Villa, whose two-match winning streak was halted by Pep Guardiola’s EPL kings last Saturday.

It means City have won four of their last five as they scramble to recover the early ground lost to their title rivals, taking on hapless Southampton at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday.

The Saints were on the receiving end of a Premier League record-busting home defeat last Friday as they were battered 9-0 by Leicester.

Manchester United, meanwhile, kick off the weekend’s action in the early Saturday match at Bournemouth.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men halted a dismal run of form last time out with a 3-1 stroll away to Norwich, hauling themselves up to seventh in the table.

The Cherries are level on points with their illustrious visitors despite going four games without a win, most recently coming away from rock-bottom Watford with a goalless draw.

Chelsea are the next visitors to the Hornets’ Vicarage Road ground, with Frank Lampard’s buoyant Blues fourth in the pile after four wins on the bounce.

A dominant 4-2 win at Burnley last weekend left the legendary former midfielder purring, as his side force their way into the top-two reckoning.

Fellow London hotshots Arsenal need three points from their Saturday clash with Wolves to avoid making it three without victory.

Unai Emery’s side start the weekend in fifth position but were pegged back by Crystal Palace last weekend at the Emirates to increase the pressure on the Spaniard.

Improving Wolves lie 12th ahead of their journey to the capital, having pinched a point at Newcastle last Sunday.

The Toon Army are also in London as they tackle West Ham, with Manuel Pellegrini’s men winless in four outings since September.

Underachieving pair Tottenham and Everton must wait until Sunday to try to turn their ailing form around.

Spurs go to Goodison Park increasingly desperate for their fourth win of the season, with Mauricio Pochettino feeling the heat in north London.

Marco Silva is also under growing pressure in the Merseyside hot seat thanks to just one victory in the Toffees’ last six EPL fixtures.

The flying Foxes of Leicester are also in Sunday service, as they seek to back up their south coast goalfest on the road at Crystal Palace.

It’ll be easier said than done with Roy Hodgson’s Eagles perched sixth in the Premier League going into the weekend.

Sheffield United meet Burnley at Bramall Lane on Saturday in a tussle for mid-table superiority.

There are points to be played for in the lower reaches, too, as Brighton take on Norwich at the Amex Stadium.
