PSL: Absa Premiership fixtures for 20 – 21 February 2018

Sundowns get opportunity to once away break away from the chasing pack.

PSL action continues this week continues again this week with two fixtures scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The two Pretoria clubs are both in action and are currently sat in different halves of the table with Mamelodi Sundowns sitting pretty at the top while Supersport United are enduring  difficult season as they sit in 12th position, a mere eight points ahead of the bottom club.

The race at the top is beginning to heat up, with Kaizer Chiefs now leading the chasing pack following a vital win over Cape Town City which saw them close the gap on Sundowns to just four points.

Tuesday, 20 February

Platinum Stars v Supersport United, Royal Bafokeng – 19:30

Supersport travel to Rustenburg to take on bottom-feeders Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on Tuesday. The hosts face an uphill battle in trying to avoid relegation and are still without a win in 2018 so far.

Eric Tinkler’s men also have not had the best of seasons as, despite a continental cup run which saw them finish as runners-up in the CAF Confederations Cup. Their early exit in the Nedbank Cup however allows them to focus solely on climbing up the league table as, with just ten fixtures remaining, their best bet is a top eight finish.

Wednesday, 21 February

Mamelodi Sundowns v Free State Stars, Loftus Versfeld – 19:30

Log leaders Sundowns have an opportunity to stretch their lead at the top up to seven points as they take on Free State Stars on Wednesday. The visitors have been one of the surprise package in the current league campaign and are well in the mix as part of the chasing pack as they sit fourth on the table behind the Soweto giants Chiefs and Orlando Pirates as they sit just six points behind their opponents.
