Arsenal are seeking a return to winning Premier League ways when they play Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners had been on a blistering run of EPL form under new boss Unai Emery.

But back-to-back draws have stemmed their charge up the table for the time being.

Last week’s stalemate with title-chasing Liverpool was great fun, as Alex Lacazette rescued a late point for the hosts following James Milner’s opener.

The previous week’s 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace was also disappointing in terms of result, rather than performance.

Arsenal head into the weekend handily placed in fifth in the Premier League, a point behind arch-rivals Tottenham and just five points shy of Manchester City at the top.

Not bad going after a pair of defeats to open the campaign.

Wolves’ season is in danger of taking the opposite trajectory.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men were comfortable in the top half following a bright start to life back in the top flight following promotion as champions of the Championship last season.

But the Black Country side have suffered three straight defeats as the harsh reality of life at the top table kicks in.

Tottenham were pushed all the way at Molineux last weekend, as penalties from Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez made the visitors sweat for a 3-2 victory.

Less impressive were the preceding defeats to Brighton and Watford.

It has seen the Portuguese-dominated squad slip down to 11th in the table.

Hardly a disaster, but they need to turn it around quickly to avoid a promising beginning turning into a tortuous return to the EPL.

Arsenal team and injury news

Danny Welbeck faces a long spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious ankle injury in the Europa League in midweek.

Stephan Lichtsteiner was also forced off and remains a concern, while Matteo Guendouzi slots back in following his one-match domestic ban.

Wolves team and injury news

Diego Jota is fit to return following his hamstring injury.

Morgan Gibbs-White could be in line for a first top flight start, after the teenager impressed against Tottenham last weekend.
