The Proteas have lost both of their T20 games against India in the series to date, and will be desperate to bounce back in Tuesday’s third and final clash of the series.

Rohit Sharma has won the toss and he elected to bowl first. India have made three changes.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been rested, while Arshdeep also misses out as he has some issues with his back. Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav have come in.

For the Proteas, Dwaine Pretorius comes in for Anrich Nortje in the only change to the team.

The series against India will serve as a key World Cup warm up

Boucher has held the position since December 2019, and led the Proteas to 11 Test wins, including a memorable 2-1 series win against India at home in January this year. The Proteas are also currently number two on the ICC World Test Championship table.

His departure will come a year sooner than his contract was set to expire.

Cricket South Africa CEO Pholetsi Moseki Moseki has now acknowledged they will need to move quickly to accelerate an unexpected search for Boucher’s replacement.
