Mercedes-AMG scored their best result of the 2023 Formula 1 season at the Spanish Grand Prix. Max Verstappen won his third race in a row, stretching his lead to 53 points.

Lewis Hamilton equaled his best result of the season with second place followed by George Russell in third. The 25-year-old started 12th on the grid and produced several excellent overtakes, according to Mercedes.

Hamilton conceded that it was impossible to maintain pace with Verstappen in the Red Bull’s RB19 car, according to GPFans.

MERCEDES TEAM PRINCIPAL WAS ECSTATIC WITH THE RESULT

Toto Wolff said after the Formula 1 race: “I’m really pleased with the hard work that has been done in Brackley and Brixworth, and happy for everyone in the Team. It’s a good result but we need to be realistic too.”

“The lower temperatures today and on Saturday really suited us; it was nice and fresh, not too hot nor too cold, and the car was in a mega window,” the Austrian said.
