Craving a sweet treat? If you love chocolate and peanut butter, you have to try these peanut butter cups as a quick and easy snack. With only three ingredients you can create these tasty treats in only 15 minutes.

Peanut butter cups are super versatile. You can use any chocolate according to your taste. Even white chocolate will work well and add some extra sweetness to this treat.

This recipe uses cupcake liners. However, if you don’t have any at home, simply use a silicone muffin tray. Alternatively, roll the peanut butter mixture into balls and dip them into the melted chocolate.

Preparing peanut butter cups are perfect for those evenings you are looking for a sweet bite but your treats cupboard is empty. This recipe makes 6 sweet bites but you can double the ingredient quantities to make 12 portions.

If you have ardent little chefs in your household, this recipe is perfect for them to put their developing culinary skills to the test.

  • 3 tablespoons icing sugar, sifted

  • ½ cup smooth peanut butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • 90 g chocolate of your choice, melted (1 slab)


  • Prepare a muffin tray with cupcake liners.
  • Stir peanut butter, vanilla essence and powdered sugar together until smooth.
  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave at 30-second intervals.
  • Spread one tablespoon of chocolate in the bottom of each cupcake liner, and swirl around to cover the sides.
  • Put the tray in the fridge/freezer to allow the chocolate to set.
  • Once the chocolate has set, spread a spoon of the peanut butter mixture on top of the chocolate.
  • Return to the fridge for another 15 minutes for the peanut butter mixture to set.
  • Drizzle the top with the rest of the melted chocolate and smooth with a spoon.
  • Refrigerate until the chocolate has hardened.
  • Remove peanut butter cups from the liners and enjoy!
