The popular Big Brother Mzansi housemate Thato Immaculate took to social media to share a snippet of her character Nthabiseng Maleka in The River.

Sunday World reports that her character will bring trouble for one of the Hlophe brothers… Mlilo (played by Vuyo Biyela).

“Dreams come true, prayers get answered. If you know me you know this is my daily prayer Jesus, you’ve been good to me. May I decrease and you increase? May you be glorified through my life,” she wrote.

The reality TV star joins the telenovela after Skeem Saam actor Cornet Mamabolo, who played serial killer Lerumo exited the show.

Last month Thato shared that she would be launching a studio and gym, and also hinted that she would be making an appearance on the small screen. At the time she said she could not reveal which show she would be in, but now the cat is finally out of the bag.

Actress Tango Ncetezo, who’s been playing Paulina since season one is the third star to exit after entertainment commentator Phil Mphela announced that multi-award-winning actor Lawrence Maleka and Hlomla Dandala, who play Zolani and Zweli in The River have also bid farewell to the telenovela.

According to TVSA, the channel 1Magic confirmed their exits in a statement:

“Hlomla Dandala, Lawrence Maleka, and Tango Ncetezo are moving on from the telenovela to new ventures and some storylines have reached an end.

“As an essential part of The River from the beginning, viewers have enjoyed watching the growth of the actors’ individual characters – Zweli with his often-well-meaning mishaps which sometimes result in dramatic consequences; Zolani with his fierce love and loyalty that at times goes too far; and Paulina whose bold look hides the soft heart of a woman who faces the toughest of battles.”

“As three of the top performers in the country, they have given viewers plenty to talk about and be entertained by, from storylines that brought out their characters’ dark sides to softer, lighter moments.”

“We would like to thank Hlomla, Lawrence, and Tango for their priceless contributions to the show, as well as the incredible work that went into giving their characters life. ”
