Bonko Khoza has opened up about his venture into acting during an intimate interview with popular author Khaya Dlanga on his podcast.

The former The Wife actor touched on a lot of topics on the podcast. The most fascinating of the topics discussed was the revelation that the actor initially wanted to be a rapper growing up.  The actor stated that, according to Zalebs, he discovered his artistic nature whilst he was studying at the University of Johannesburg where he was studying towards a BA degree in design.

“I made the decision that I am not a designer I’m an artist. I am a free thinker, I’m a rule breaker.” he stated during the interview. ‘’ I signed up at the Market Theater without my parents’ knowledge where I did a two year course” he continued. Bonko stated that his first acting job was a commercial for Halls then the rest was history.

Bonko also touched on the topic of his siblings  revealing that one of his siblings is an industrial psychologist and his other sibling works at the Johannesburg business school. The actor stated that he is quite different from the rest of his family.

Bonko is mostly known for his role as Mqhele Zulu on The Wife before being replaced by Uzalo actor Wiseman Mncube. He has had a role in other productions such as The Brave Ones and 13 weeks to find Mr Right.
