Lockdown looks like love for these South African celebrities who are sharing pictures of their ever-growing baby bumps on social media.
Celebrity pregnancies always cheer fans up. And this is especially so over the lockdown period of the 2020 pandemic which has been a sad time for many.
Not everyone is gloomy, however, and several South African celebrities seem to be more than happy as they are expecting the arrival of their bundle of joy.
Judging from the pregnancies emerging, it looks like these couples haven’t been practising social distancing in their homes!
Some have made their pregnancies public knowledge while others have waited to show it off.
One or two have been flaunting their baby bumps in luxurious and adorable pregnancy shoots that make others wish they could become a mom too.
Here are a few of the Mzansi celebs who have been sharing clues and pictures with fans.
Ngema has revealed she is expecting her first bundle of joy. In 2017, Ngema lost her husband Dumisani Masilela after two months of marriage. Masilela was an actor on e.tv’s Scandal and also a recording artist.
Ngema’s pregnancy was a surprise to many because South Africans assumed the actress was still single. Nonetheless, everyone deserves to be happy.
Gela is a South African actress best known for her role as Busi Motsamai on Muvhango but was later replaced by Bontle Sithole in the soapie.
She has also appeared on Umlilo (Andile Simelane), Zabalaza (MyGirl), Generations, Ring of Lies, Imposter and Broken Vows.
The 29-year-old actress and businesswoman recently played the role of Khumbuzile on The Queen which airs on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161).
For months there has been speculations that Modiadie is expecting her first bundle of joy.
In tweets that have since been deleted, she complained about the lockdown and the disruptions it has caused.
She said she has to try harder to make it because she’s now living for somebody else who is relying on her.
Fans and colleagues congratulated the radio personality and started to dig and ask for confirmation. However, the former Zaziwa presenter is yet to confirm the news.
What’s notable though, is that she has stopped taking full body pictures, and has become more of a selfie person.
Businesswoman Yolanda is married to rap and hip-hop artist Kwesta and the two already have a daughter.
Vilakazi revealed on Instagram that they’re expecting a fourth member to the family.
The year 2020 has so far seen a number of celebrities start the journey of parenthood and some expand their already existing families.
These include musicians such as Busisiwe “CiCi” Twala, Bucie Nkomo, Karlien van Jaarsveld and actresses Zenande Mfeyane and Zola Nombona among others.
