TIK SUSPECT ARRESTED BEAUFORT WEST

According to the report, the suspect was nabbed after the drugs were discovered in a constructed compartment of his Toyota Corolla.

Police might have never uncovered the stash of R4.1 million worth of tik near Beaufort West if it wasn’t for the sniffer dogs on the scene.

The suspect was at the wrong place at the wrong time after driving into a roadblock in Leau Gamka, which lies a few minutes from Beaufort West.

“A search of the vehicle ensued when a trained narcotic police dog reacted positively. This led to a thorough search of the motor vehicle where police detected a hidden compartment behind the back seat stashed with 11 880kg of tik,” said Police spokesperson Christopher Spies.

“Police confiscated the drugs and arrested the driver on a charge of dealing in drugs,” Spies added.
