Telkom rant

Watch: Woman’s Telkom tantrum goes viral [video]

Have you ever been absolutely fed-up with Telkom? Many of us have, however, this woman took it to the next level, plus one.

Telkom rant

Alright, let’s set one of a few scenes that many South Africans know all too well. You’re sitting at home or work and you need to make a super urgent phone call. Heck, maybe you need to send a crucial email to meet a deadline? What happens? Your Telkom line senses your fear and all hell breaks loose. Enter: The Telkom rant.

A video is currently going full-on viral across social media in South Africa. Why? One woman took her Telkom rant into an actual store and proceeded to lose her mind in a fit of rage. Knowing us South Africans, it ticked all the boxes on the viral test: A white woman (sometimes known as Becky) hysterically complaining about something in a public area.

The video starts as comically (but also as relateable) as you would expect. The person behind the camera films the woman from the outside of the store, inside, the woman is literally screaming about her WiFi hotspot.

After about 30-seconds the woman’s pitch literally reaches a point where it sounds like Satan has possessed her and also wants his WiFi router.

The woman can at least be heard calling the consultant she is laying into “sir”. At one point, she even draws the first batch of laughs from the packed store.

“You go home to your family and you get Wifi! While I sit and I have lots of problems with my internet.” * Complete with multiple gestures and pointing to your phone.

“There is no tomorrow, NOOOOOOW! no tomorow, no five minutes, now!”

Things get particularly good as the guy filming can be heard jokingly commenting that “she is on that flakka shit”. If you’ve ever seen what someone looks like on Flakka, this wasn’t exactly far off.

The video eventually ends as the terrified security guard is reluctantly forced to approach the woman.
