South Africans should brace themselves for a gloomy cold winter as President Cyril Ramaphosa has painted a bleak picture of the countries energy crisis. Ramaphosa was speaking in Chatsworth Durban where the party welcomed new members who had floor crossed from the Democratic Alliance. While the country has faced persistent daily power cuts since September 2022, the President made it clear the South Africa’s energy problems are not unique and countries such as the USA had once upon a time experienced it.

On Monday, the ANC’s National Working Committee is expected to meeting and give an update on the energy crises. Ramaphosa has continued to reiterate governments commitment to ensure power cuts come to an end.
