SUMMARY:

An 88-year-old woman was allegedly mauled to death by pit bulls in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town, on Tuesday, 28 March. The victim was found in her backyard by her son. South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Captain F.C. van Wyk told The South African the body of an 88-year-old woman was found by her son at her home in Loganberry Street, Bonteheuwel at approximately 17:00 on Tuesday. 

Bonteheuwel Ward Councillor Angus McKenzie identified the victim as Mrs Grill. According to the councillor, she was 92 years old. McKenzie expressed his disbelief at the tragic incident of pit bulls and said it does not and should not make sense. The Bishop Lavis police are investigating an inquest case.
