What would you do if a hippo walked past your house?
We see lots of videos about hijackings, cash in transit robberies and even large snakes scaring people. Today, we have something completely different though, a hippopotamus somehow ended up in a Limpopo housing estate.
TimesLive reports that the Hippo was seen walking down the road in Ledibeng Eco Estate. Tuesday morning saw the Hippo decide to pay a little visit to town residents, he also caused a little bit of trouble.
One driver saw the Hippo and started filming while he followed the hippo by driving a safe distance behind it. Two people on a scooter could be seen attempting to go past the Hippo. The scooter driver took as wide a berth as possible but the Hippo still fancied a bit of a chase.
The Hippo momentarily rushed at the scooter, thankfully though, the driver managed to speed up and get a safe distance away. Hippos are definitely not known for their speed and this one quickly gave up the chase.
Residents also confirmed that no one was hurt and the Hippo soon returned to the nearby river where he is believed to live “full-time”. There were no sighting reports of any of the Hippo’s family members. Check out the video for yourself below.
