Australian cast of ‘The Lion King’ musical, which includes several South Africans, sings ‘Circle of Life’ on a plane to Sydney, to the delight of millions.
On a high after announcing an upcoming Brisbane season of hit musical ‘The Lion King’, currently on stage in Sydney, members of the Australian cast broke into a spontaneous rendition of ‘Circle of Life’ on the plane back to Sydney. Their infectious enthusiasm and harmonious voices help to explain why the video has gone viral in just two days, with more than seven million views since it was uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday.
In every country in which The Lion King is performed, the cast traditionally includes a strong contingent of southern Africans – and this one is no exception.
Ensemble members from South Africa include Jabulani Gambu, Sandile Gontsana, Gabisile Manana, Buti Mothamana, Zoe Mthiyane, Bhekani Nkalankala and Noluthando Sithole.
