Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, Microsoft’s Paul Allen and Netflix,The Ivory Game tells the story of elephant poaching and is set to bring the crisis to the public’s attention.

Award-winning director Richard Ladkani and Academy Award-nominated director Kief Davidson reportedly filmed undercover for 16 months in China and Africa with a team of intelligence operatives, activists, rangers and so forth to capture the severity of ivory trafficking. The dark world of the ivory trade reportedly results in the slaughter of more than 30,000 elephants and park rangers every year.

The film also features crime fighters who risk their lives to save these magnificent animals. The fighters include: Ofir Drori, an Israeli activist, who conducts undercover raids in East-Africa; Elisifa Ngowi, a leader of Tanzania’s anti-trafficking task force; and Andrea Costa, the Italian founder of WildLeaks, a website for whistle-blowers who can anonymously send tip-offs about wildlife crime.
