Watch: South Africans get basic questions wrong in hilarious public skit [video]

We South Africans are a funny bunch!

Cape Town comedian Devdondidit is back with his always popular Questions South Africa series. He heads to a public location, whips out a microphone and asks the public some “easy” questions. Hilarity always follows.

Devdondidit is one of the funniest comedians in the country, let alone the Cape. Dev is known for his hit viral videos like ‘Keeping Up with the Kaapdashians’ and his Gupta parody of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’. Trust us when we tell you that they’re all flipping funny.

With the last Questions South Africa coming around Christmas time for a special edition, we’ve all had to wait patiently for these next few laughs.

Episode 9 of the series sees Dev hit up the Liberty Promenade Shopping Mall out in Mitchell’s Plain, Cape Town. He asks eight supposedly easy general knowledge questions hoping the public gets them right. In return, they could win a R200 voucher from the shopping mall.

One of the standout questions from this episode was “What is the third letter in the word budget?”.

Dev got answers that featured ‘t’ to ‘b’ and somehow, someone even said ‘g’.

As usual, the editing on the video combines some of our favourite memes at the best timed moments to help maximise the laughs. Seeing the Deputy Parliamentary speaker shout “Are you deaf?!” after an incorrect answer is hilarious.

Another goodie saw South Africans being asked to name the animal on the R10 note. Sounds simple right?

“How do you say? It’s a bok something? I don’t know how to say it but I just say it’s a bok.”

“What do you call it? A sheep?”

As you would expect, Dev took some of the answers to pieces, in a way only Dev can, of course.
