Sebastian Vettel isn’t just a champion on the track. He’s always impressed F1 fans with the way he conducts himself off it, too. In fact, the German may have just enhanced his reputation even further here.

When facing the full glare of the media, Vettel proved that the drivers’ union is incredibly strong. Sat in a press conference alongside Lewis Hamilton, the Brit was questioned about his use of foul language on Sunday.

Hamilton called Verstappen “a dickhead”

When Hamilton was rewatching footage of the race, cameras caught him labelling Max Verstappen a “dickhead”, after their cars made contact very early on in Bahrain.

A journalist in the crowd then decided to probe Hamilton on this incident. That’s when Vettel stepped in and made his anger known to the assorted media.

He lambasted the “shit question” and accused the journalist of trying to make a story out of nothing. As you can see, the rest of Vettel’s response was utter brilliance:

Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton have always been fierce competitors on the track and there’s been a fair share of speculation that the pair don’t get along. But when it comes to defending professional integrity, it seems like Vettel will put any rivalry aside.

The Ferrari driver claimed a perfect start to the F1 2018 season when he managed to grind out a victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix. He fought off the menacing challenge of Valtteri Bottas in the Mercedes to chalk up his second win in two races.
