Absolutely brilliant. Ten out of ten.

Being a cop can be a bit of a kak job. You have to deal with some pretty nasty people – and you sometimes have to put your life at risk.

In South Africa, we’ve got the whole “stomach in, chest out” thing going, but in New Zealand… well, they’ve got something completely next level in a bid to get new recruits to join the force.

The advert, dubbed the “world’s most entertaining police recruitment video” has gone all sorts of viral with over two million views and counting.

It features a good dose of New Zealand humour and people are absolutely loving it. The clip is almost three minutes long, but it’s well worth a watch. And yes, you absolutely must read the credits too.

Now, we know crime is a bit higher over here in South Africa. What with people being kidnapped for their body parts and whatnot. But can’t you just picture one of these being done in South Africa?

We don’t want to give Minister Razzmatazz any ideas, but considering some of the stuff that he often mutters about criminals, he’s already on his way to scripting a similarly quirky recruitment vid – heck, he could even feature in it himself. Provided he actually takes pictures with the right criminals and not some people on their way to a funeral, eh?

Credit to the Kiwis, they absolutely nailed this one. And, to their credit, they’re even answering people’s Facebook questions about who did the song for the video.

It’s  called Wowwee by Willie Waiirua, in case you were wondering.

Come on, South Africa – get some comedic brains together and whip something up for us. We can’t let the Kiwis beat us at rugby AND police recruitment now can we?
