Watch: Game of Thrones Season

Sadly, our Game of Thrones-loving hearts will have to wait a while before we see our favorite characters from the HBO drama again. But, that doesn’t mean, we cannot dissect every ounce of Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 7 or just watch it over and over again.

The very last episode of Season 7 called ‘The Dragon and The Wolf’ had quite a lot in store for fans as it was the longest episode in Game of Thrones history. With a running time of 80 minutes, it seems a lot of fans were left in awe with a thrilling finale that’s bound to keep us happy until Season 8.

The finale saw Jon Snow and the rest of the gang meet up at Dragonpit to show Cersei Lannister that the threat of the White Walkers and their army of the dead is in fact very, very real.

Although Cersei acknowledges the threat, she ends up making her own plans, which eventually isolates her from her twin brother (and incestuous lover) Jaimie in the end.

Executive Producer and writer, D.B. Weiss says in the following video that the truth of what lies in the North meant something different for Jaime and another thing for Cersei. “They both acknowledge the truth of it, they’re both smart enough to realize what it means, but she is still seeing it from a cold, strategic standpoint where he’s seeing it from a point of existential survival for everyone.”

Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 7: Inside the episode:

While it was a big moment for all of the key players to come together, Arya and Sansa Stark still mean business in Winterfell. Arya and Sansa struggled to find common ground after their reunion (thanks to Littlefinger’s conniving in previous episodes in Season 7), but, luckily a surprising twist brought the two of them together again.

Executive Producer and Writer, David Benioff explains that so much of this scene is about what happens beforehand and building towards the tension between Sansa and Arya in earlier episodes – up to a point where you believe one will potentially kill the other. But, this episode actually saw the death of one of the most notorious characters in Game of Thrones to date, Littlefinger. Thankfully, not the death of either one of the Stark sisters.

Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 7 behind the scenes:

In Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 7, another highlight includes the unveiling of Jon Snow’s true lineage, name and birthright which means he is the real heir to the Iron Throne. Jon (real name Aegon) is in fact the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark who were actually married at the time of Jon’s conception. This confirms Daenerys as Jon’s aunt. Only questions is, will their romantic notions come to a halt when they eventually find out?

The last episode definitely answered some burning questions about the world of Westeros, but made for an intense showdown when The Night King and Viserion – the ‘zombie’ dragon – breached The Wall which kept the White Walkers at bay for a while.

Now, all we can do is wait for Season 8, the final season of Game of Thrones which will consist of 6 episodes. So let’s start watching Season 7 of Game of Thrones from the beginning to see what little details we’ve missed, shall we?

Until Season 8, folks!
