Business class, please! Now you can with cheaper fares for ‘lite version’

If flying in economy class does not conjure up feelings of excitement, why not try business class lite as airlines are trying to lure travellers back on board?

For most travellers sitting in economy class with the masses is the norm when flying because business class fares are prohibitively expensive.

The increased baggage allowance, lounge access, priority boarding, lie-flat seat with extra leg room, superior inflight catering and amenity kits are just some of the benefits of flying in business class.

In an effort to enable more travellers to fly business class amid the slump in demand for air travel caused by COVID-19, Qatar Airways is one of the airlines that has introduced a cheaper business class fare which excludes many of the “extras” offered to business class passengers.

UNBUNDLING BUSINESS CLASS SERVICES

There is a growing trend for airlines to unbundle standard business class features like seat selection and lounge access in their premium classes, so that passengers can enjoy a premium flying experience without having to shell out more cash.

Qatar Airways adjusted the provisions of its premium-class fares and introduced a new business class fare on 1 October. With the introduction of Qatar’s new “Lite” fare, there are four business-class fares options: Lite, Classic, Comfort, and Elite are the different fare levels in Qatar’s business class.

BUSINESS CLASS SLIMMED DOWN

Qatar Airways has unbundled its business class fares so that passengers can buy just the business class seat without all the extras, and pay less for the ticket. The airline has stripped its standard business class fares down to offer a new cheaper business class option.

Travellers who book Qatar’s new Lite (P class) fares will not be able to access the airline’s airport lounge or select their seats in advance. They will also not earn the same number of Qmiles as those who book the airline’s standard fares.

Qatar Airways’ business class is a cut above the rest. The airline’s business class product was voted the best in the world in this year’s Skytrax Airline Awards.

CHEAPER BUSINESS CLASS FARE

Qatar’s new cheaper business class option allows travellers to sample its premium business class product at a more affordable price.

The offer is likely to be well-received, leading to increased customer loyalty, according to Traveldailymedia. The unbundled low-price business class is a win-win for both the airline and passengers.

It is recommended that travellers examine the benefits of the new low-price business class before buying tickets.

Throughout the pandemic Qatar Airways was one of the few airlines that continued to fly to most destinations in its route network throughout the period of heightened restrictions.

The airline also does its bit for the planet by providing free carriage to wildlife that is being relocated. The award-winning Qatar Airways has now made it easier for more passengers to fly in its business class.
