You may have seen all the hype around the latest addition to Samsung’s S-Series: the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra. The S20 is, after all, described as the “phone to end all cameras”.

The S20 Ultra has a 100x zoom and 108 MP camera. Coupled with the Single Take feature and the phones 8K recording capabilities, it’s any content creator, photographer or artist’s dream.

But hey, don’t take my word for it, experience the S20 for yourself. If you’re based in Johannesburg, head over to the Samsung S20 booth at Sandton City.

You have until 15 March 2020 to play around with the device, discover all its features and maybe even blow your mind in the process. Why not try the 100x zoom feature? The Samsung Z Flip will be on display too, watch a close-up here.

If you’re based in Cape Town or Durban, don’t worry, Samsung didn’t forget about you. The S20 Studio booth will be moving to Canal Walk and Gateway shopping centres from 20 to 29 March.

The S20 truly is a next-generation device built for “a new generation of users”. According to Samsung, it was created to “empower us to communicate and express ourselves in incredible new ways”.

If you disregard everything else the phone has to offer, the S20’s 6.2-inch display (or the S20+’s 6.7-inch display and the S20 Ultra’s 6.9-inch display) already makes the device stand out.

Each device features a thin and light design “that’s topped off by the latest product of Samsung’s mobile display leadership”. That includes the nearly bezel-less, full-frontal Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display.

The Galaxy S20 and S20+’s displays also include a 10MP selfie camera, while the S20 Ultra boasts a 40MP lens. In addition, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has a powerful Quad camera setup for pro-grade photos and videos.

S20 Ultra Single Take

The future of photo and video recording fits in the palm of your hand. The S20’s Single Take let’s you record up to 10 seconds of footage that the phone’s AI will use to compile your favourite takes.

From adjusting the lighting and adding different filters, to creating a short video and even a gif, all it takes is a tap of the shutter button. Like magic, but better. Samsung explains:

“The function utilises multiple cameras at once to capture up to ten high-quality photos and four video clips, and even suggests edits and video effects like cropping, Live Focus and time-lapse to help you choose the perfect shot.”
