The countdown is on! Samsung will be kicking off their Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, 7 August, at 22:00. Everybody is waiting in anticipation to hear more about the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.

We’ve had to put up with rumours, whispers and leaks for months. What we do know is that the Samsung Note 10 and the Note 10 Plus will be unveiled today, it’s is being described as the “next generation of Samsung.”

The Samsung Note 10 could have the highest waterproof rating of any Samsung phone to date. Ishawn Agarwal believes that it will have an IP rating of 69. That’s even higher than Huawei’s P30 Pro IP68.

We also reported earlier that Samsung may have ‘borrowed’ a few features from Huawei’s flagship phone. The Note 10 sported the same gradient finish and rear triple-camera alignment as the P30 Pro.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 rumours

Recent rumours include the S Pen having its own camera, as well as 4 300 mAh battery, and a bigger aspect ratio.

The Note 10 is likely to have a screen size of around 16 cm; while the Note 10 Plus is likely to come with a screen that will measure 16.5 cm or more. The tiny issue of the headphone jack also needs to be resolved.

Samsung have dispensed with the 3.5mm headphone jack on most phones. And if they’ve done the same with the Note 10, it will bring the new model in line with most other flagship phones.

Though it’s probably too much to hope that Samsung will ship the Note 10 with a pair of complementary Galaxy Buds. But we can dream, I suppose.

Galaxy Fold, 5G and upcoming releases

It is also not confirmed as yet if the Galaxy Note 10 will come with 5G capabilities, but the chances are good. We can probably begin to expect 5G as a standard on all flagship models.

Samsung may even use the Unpacked Event as an opportunity to reveal new information about the Galaxy Fold. The phone was initially unveiled in April, but retracted due to the bad press that followed.

After going back to the drawing board and tweaking the phone, Samsung announced that they will launch the Galaxy Fold in September. But so much can still happen before then. It’s probably too early to get word on the Samsung S11, no?
