League of Legends AI-driven voice assistant will help you play better

Playing team-based games online can be infuriating. Even when you’re a bit more experienced, you’re likely to meet up with unhelpful teammates who will be more than happy to give you their opinion on whether you should continue playing.

League of Legends has done a lot to reduce the toxicity of its online space, but the real problem with team-based games like MOBAs is the steep learning curve.

Even with extensive research and lots of prep there’s just so much going on and so much to remember during a game. There’s a ton of resources that will help you figure out what items to buy and what skills to level.

There are even lots of tools that will help you learn more about the way your opponent plays. All of that is pretty unhelpful if you can’t remember any of it by the time you hit minute 30 of your game.

Gosu.ai are looking to give us that helping hand we need. Gosu.ai have been in the business of analyzing user’s game data and helping them improve their play in DOTA2, LOL and PubG.

The Gosu.ai team are now looking at releasing a desktop voice assistant that will be able to interact with the player during the game. The desktop assistant will be able to offer advice about strategy and tactics, giving feedback to the player during the game.

Games like MOBAs benefit most from this kind of AI tools as the complexity of the gameplay means that improving is not just down to mechanical ability. Getting better at playing a character isn’t always enough to enhance in-game.

Depending on your build role and various other in-game factors itemization and decision making are critical in-game.

The learning curve for all of this is insanely steep as when just starting out you’re battling with learning the controls, the metagame and countering your lane opponent.

MOBAs are typically very hard to learn without a more experienced friend to guide you through. While Gosu.ai is not going to be able to teach you everything a buddy would be able to, it will definitely be able to offer some much-needed guidance.

The GOSU desktop assistant is only available for League of Legends currently. The desktop assistant is in open beta at the moment, so you can go and try it out now if you’re looking for some help with your League of Legends skills.

The GOSU assistant is still in beta, and there’s still work to be done. The company is confident that the project progresses additional customization to the assistant’s humour, age and style will help to enhance the user experience.
