A Blessing in Disguise release

Nintendo tweeted that Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise will be released on 10 July 2020. We were blessed with the release of a new trailer too. The developers say:

“Through unique storytelling, venture back in time to Le Carré and uncover the mysteries buried within the once peaceful town. Through the memories of a former FBI agent, go back in time to Le Carré and step into the role of Special Agent York to begin unravelling the mystery.”

The sequel to the 2010 cult-hit will allow you to explore a new mystery as FBI Special Agent Francis York Morgan. The game is set in both present-day Boston and the fictional town of Le Carré, Louisiana.

New characters also include Agents Davis and Jones who are on a mission to track down their own mysterious serial killer. In addition, there are also mini-games to keep you entertained. Yep, and by that we mean skateboarding.

There will be skateboarding, and then some. You’ll also be able to customise your character to your heart’s content and upgrade your skateboard for improved speed and trickier tricks.

Unfortunately, the new trailer doesn’t reveal much. However, Rising Star Games and Toybox released just enough information to whet your appetite and hopefully keep you captivated until the game’s release.

Furthermore, the game is also a prequel as well as a sequel to Deadly Premonition Origins, which is currently available on Nintendo Switch.

A Blessing in Disguise cost

The game will be released digitally and will be available exclusively via the Nintendo eShop at a retail price of $49.99 (or R930, at the time of publishing with an exchange rate of R18.62 = $1.)

The release of the open-ended adventure sequel was initially announced back in September 2019 during a Nintendo Direct presentation.

The first Deadly Premonition was released ten years ago and there’s certainly a lot to love about these games. Now’s the time to catch up with the cult-classic before the sequel is released.
