There are those among us who enjoy recreating game trailers and making fan videos in their spare time. Well, one man has taken it a step further by recreating entire videos with real Lego.

His real name is Etienne but on YouTube he goes by the alias Productionetilego, and he has been hard at work building and creating these video trailers entirely from Lego bricks.

Lockdown brings out the Lego

While he started creating these videos in 2011, he stopped about two years after starting them. As we have all been forced to stay at home and find our favourite hobbies again, it seems that this has given him the perfect opportunity to resurrect his passion.

His latest work is the Assassin’s Creed Revelations E3 trailer, which is a recreation of his first ever video that was posted on his YouTube channel way back in 2011. If you go back and take a look at the previous video you will see just how far this incredible artist has come, and just how much his video quality has improved.

When asked Etienne explained that, “This video took two months to make. It’s a repetitive process: build the decor, do the photo framing, make the camera movement, and, last but not least, animate Lego.”

He goes on to describe the last step saying that in order to achieve the final step he had to rewatch the original game’s trailer over and over frame by frame.

He explains that this latest trailer is in fact made up of over 3430 individual frames.

Etienne goes on to mention that he would ideally be interested in recreating every one of the Assassin’s Creed trailers in this exact manner, but that some are relatively difficult to achieve and that he doesn’t actually have a lot of free time these days.

He not only shoots video trailers though. Etienne has also been known to shoot his own works of fiction made exclusively with Lego sets. When asked which was his favourite project, he mentioned Flashback, which is an original short film that he wrote.

The videos are not only entertaining, but it is also amazing to see the artistry and hard work put into each and every single frame needed to showcase each Lego movement.

After watching these videos, we sincerely hope that he can somehow find the time to recreate many more of these spectacular little masterpieces, because once you have watched your first video you will undoubtedly be wanting to watch more of them.
