As we are in our seventh week of lockdown, most students are probably bored out of their minds. However, there is no reason to be. If you no longer have any varsity assignments to complete or just want to take a breather, then gaming could be just the solution to beat the #lockdownblues.

Most people in these rather peculiar circumstances of today have access to computers and a stable WiFi connection. I think without it, we would have gone insane already in week one of lockdown.

Endless supply to choose from

However, you can use your computer or laptop for more than just browsing the web and watching your favourite series. How about hopping onto a great gaming website and entertaining yourself for a good few hours with some video game characters?

Gaming websites and stores, such as Steam and Galaxy of Games, have a good supply of popular games available to download and purchase for your entertainment. There are literally an endless supply of games to choose from and something for everyone with genres ranging from action and adventure, to horror and strategy.

How to embark om your gaming journey

All you have to do is set up a quick account and you are ready to play. Choose from games such as Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter V and Marvel vs Capcom or some easier click-and-point games for beginners, such as The Walking Dead, Detective Grimoire and Machiniarium to name but a few.

Once you’ve purchased a game, it is yours forever to have and to play! So you will be making a good investment. And always remember to stay on the a lookout for more as there are plenty of sales that come up.

Not looking to spend any money though? Don’t worry, there are also numerous free games to choose from.

With websites as good as these, you will be guaranteed to be able to fend off the boredom for quite a while. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll be able to survive staying at home during lockdown after all.
