WhatsApp on Friday retreated again from its plan to force users to accept the Facebook-owned app’s new privacy policy terms.
WhatsApp delayed the rollout of its updated privacy policy to 15 May 2021, following backlash.
A local ruling from SA’s Information Regulator may stop WhatsApp from going ahead with its proposed changes.
Those who don’t accept the new WhatsApp privacy policy by the extended deadline won’t be able to send or receive messages via the app.
WhatsApp will now be using Status updates to share information about new features.
The public prosecutor’s office in Palermo said it has opened an “incitement to suicide” investigation against TikTok after the 10-year-old’s death by asphyxiation.
WhatsApp informs users they need to accept the Facebook condition to continue usage or delete their accounts by 8 February.
