The police in the Western Cape said an inquiry into the sexual assault allegations against Fritz is underway but a criminal case is yet to be opened.
Advocate Jennifer Williams has been appointed to conduct the external investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Fritz.

‘The complainants who have approached me have been informed that they have the option to lay criminal charges too, and that any necessary support will be provided to them should they elect to do so,’ said Winde.
Four Western Cape Government officials accused of ‘procuring’ and ‘grooming’ women for Fritz have reportedly been suspended.
Albert Fritz is facing a number of sexual assault allegations this week, and the senior DA figure has since stepped aside from his role.
Winde said an investigation into the ‘serious allegations’ against Fritz is underway. The suspended MEC has offered his full cooperation.
Western Cape Department of Community Safety employee Jacqueline Mpontsana was allegedly burnt to death by her boyfriend last month.
