WWE Smackdown Live: Review, li

With Stomping Grounds in the books, we begin the road to Extreme Rules as new challengers and old rivalries take center stage.

We get a look back at the return of The Undertaker from RAW. Shane McMahon appears on camera warning The Undertaker, and issues a warning to the Smackdown locker room to not get in his way tonight.

Ooooooh Portland, don’t you dare be sour. Here comes the New Day. Your boys do their usual schtick. There’s a huge Kofi chant. Kofi tells Samoa Joe that he’s ready for him. Dolph Ziggler comes out, he’s not done with Kofi. Let’s do the math, he’s lost two title matches in a row, and says he still deserves a title match. Oh boy. WWE logic. Dolph calls Kofi’s wins tainted. Oh hey, he has another match with Kofi tonight, a 2 out of 3 falls match with Kofi to earn a spot in the title match at Extreme Rules.

Backstage Miz calls out Shane McMahon, but Elias stops him. Shane comes out and tells Elias that if Miz wants him, Miz needs to beat Elias in a 2 out of 3 falls match.

The New Day vs Rowan & Daniel Bryan

Result: The New Day pickup the win.

After the match, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn attack Xavier and Woods. Heavy Machinery make the save, and we have an 8-man tag.

Result: Tucker of Heavy Machinery pins Sami Zayn. Kevin Owens walked away from the match.

The Miz vs Elias with Shane McMahon

Result: Elias wins by 2 falls to 1 after Shane McMahon interferes. There’s a “No More Shane” chant. Shane hits a coast to coast on The Miz for good measure.

Backstage Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor is ready to give an interview. Shinsuke Nakamura shows up and the crowd goes wild. He eyes out Finn’s title and walks off.

Bayley vs Nikki Cross

Result: Nikki Cross pins Bayley to earn Alexa Bliss another title match at Extreme Rules.

There’s more 24/7 championship shenanigans. Drake Maverick is looking depressed.

Ember Moon vs Sonya De Ville with Mandy Rose

Result: Sonya picks up the win and celebrates by embracing Mandy Rose after the match.

We get a promo from Aleister Black challenge someone to a fight. There’s a knocking at the door and Aleister looks angry.

2 Out of 3 Falls
Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston

Result: Kofi wins by 2 falls to 1.

The champ celebrates to end the show. Dolph looks like he’s done for this WWE run.

That’s it for another week of WWE action. We’ll see you next week.
