WWE Smackdown Live: Results, highlights and live stream for 20th March 2019

A lot can happen in two weeks, and that’s all the time we have left until the big daddy of wrestling comes around again. Who will secure their WrestleMania dominance tonight? Let’s get it on!

The Miz is kicking things off, he heads to the ring to a good reaction from the crowd. He’s looking uber serious tonight. We get a recap of Shane McMahon’s recent actions. Miz speaks on how he was warned against teaming with Shane, and Shane is the worst kind of person, he’s a McMahon. He talks about how he worked hard to make something of his life and wasn’t born rich. The crowd chant “you deserve it” and at WrestleMania Shane will get what he deserves, an awesome beating. Great work by Miz here.

Non-Title Match
Sasha Banks & Bayley (c) vs The ICONIICS

Result: The ICONIICS steal a surprise non title pinfall win. During the match, Lacey Evans did her usual appearance to distract the ladies.

Backstage we get an interview with Rey Mysterio. He’s with his son Dominic. Rey will be facing Samoa Joe at WrestleMania for the US championship. Dominic says he can’t wait to watch from ringside.

It’s time for the KO show as Kevin Owens will be interviewing Charlotte Flair and The Man Becky Lynch. KO gives props to Kofi Kingston and then welcomes his guests. KO spends the whole interview egging both ladies on till a brawl erupts. WrestleMania will be a No DQ match.

Backstage we get an interview with AJ Styles. He speaks on his match with Randy Orton. He says he’s going to WrestleMania to tear the house down. Then he wishes Kofi Kingston good luck.

WWE Champion Daniel Bryan and Rowan head to the ring. Bryan speaks on Kofi, he calls Kofi a fighter but says he has no chance. He refers to Kofi as nothing more than a B+ player. He rips on the New Day and their merchandise. The New Day has heard enough and make their way out. The Gauntlet match is underway.

Kofi Kingston vs Sheamus

Result: Kofi hits the Trouble in Paradise kick to get the pin to move on. Cesaro immediately attacks.

We see the other member of The New Day cheering on backstage.

Kofi Kingston vs Cesaro

Result: Kofi reverses a Neutralizer into an SOS to pin Cesaro and advance.

Kofi Kingston vs Rowan

Result: Rowan gets himself DQ’d after hitting Kofi with a chair. He then beats down Kofi before his next opponent comes out.

Backstage even more members of the roster are watching Kofi, they’re not happy with the beatdown. Joe is out next.

Kofi Kingston vs Samoa Joe

Result: Kingston turn’s Joe’s Muscle Buster into a rollup and pins him. Joe chokes him out afterwards. Randy Orton attacks.

Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton

Result: Kofi endures a beating from Orton to pickup a pinfall win and advance to WrestleMania’s title match against Daniel Bryan.

The New Day flood the ring to hoist Kofi up in celebration! What a night for Kofi! Oh wait…here comes the boss…he congratulates Kofi for making it to WrestleMania, oh if he can beat one more opponent. WWE Champion Daniel Bryan comes out and the match underway.

Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan

Result: After a flurry of attacks Daniel takes down Kofi and pins Kofi to end the dream.

Smackdown goes off the air with Daniel standing tall. The energy in the building is dead.
