Who are the favourites to win the PGA Tour

(Partner Content) Of all sports, golf is perhaps one of the most mathematical and data-driven. Accurately aiming for the hole, ensuring that you swing from the correct position, and hit the ball at the right angle will all play a major part in how well a player does.

This means that you can look at a lot of data and statistics to see who is most likely to do well in a tournament such as the PGA Tour. Of course, this doesn’t mean that other factors are important and unpredictable, but there are still a lot of ways to analyse and predict who will do well.

On that note, here are some of the favorites to win the 2021 PGA Tour:

  • Rory McIlroy

McIlroy has reached household name status and so it is unsurprising that he is at the top of a lot of favorite pick lists. McIlroy is currently 11th in the world so his odds for winning are pretty good. This means that his odds at the bookies are pretty low, so he is likely a pretty safe bet. McIlroy might not currently be world number one but there are some strong arguments for why he is on his way to being. McIlory is gradually working his way up and is already a world superstar, so it is likely only a matter of time.

  • Bryson DeChambeau

DeChambeau is currently 6th in the world rankings so there is no surprise that he is pretty close to the top of most favorite pick lists. In fact, he is number one for a lot of people. Compared to McIlroy, DeChambeau is physically much larger which can make a big difference. McIlroy has significant skills but DeChambeau’s physical strength will definitely have an impact. DeChambeau is also a pretty safe bet and is a favorite in Fanduel’s PGA picks.

  • Jon Rahm

Another safe choice, Rahm has a good chance of winning. Rahm will perhaps not beat DeChambeau or McIlroy, but he definitely stands a chance. His odds are not quite as low as DeChambeau and McIlroy, but they are definitely still very low, especially in comparison to other players. This means, from a bookie’s perspective, he has a pretty good chance of winning, but he’s not a definite winner. Rahm is currently the world number one so it’s no surprise that his odds are pretty low.

Rahm’s points average and number of points gained is pretty impressive. Just by looking at the current leaderboard, it is obvious that he is massively outstripping the other players. Rahm might not be as world-renowned as McIlroy, or even DeChambeau, but he really should be. Rahm is always one to watch, if not purely for his impressive play and abilities. Rahm is definitely a favorite for this year’s PGA Tour, if not more to come. It will be interesting to see how he plays up against the others, especially those he is massively outstripping on the leaderboard at the moment.
